Kate began her psychology career in the public mental health system at Ballarat Psychiatric Services. For almost four years, her role as a Community Mental Health Clinician involved working with clients presenting with Major Mental Illness, high risk factors and Personality Disorders, with comorbid drug and alcohol issues and intellectual disabilities. As well as the ongoing treatment of these clients, Kate was also involved in the triage and assessment of new clients referred to the service.
Following this, Kate moved to the private practice sector, working in a practice in Geelong for 18 months, where she provided psychological services for treatment of issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse; grief and loss; parenting concerns; child and adolescent issues; educational and gifted assessment; road and work accidents; and victims of crime.
Kate then moved to Queensland where she worked both in the public service for a short term contract at Wide Bay Integrated Mental Health Services, covering a community case load due to illness, and as a private psychologist for a year.
After taking time off for maternity leave, Kate has returned to work part time as a private psychologist at CMG Psychology.
